Greetings Fellow Sharks,
Those of you who attended our monthly meeting last week heard the inspiring talk from Naomi Copeland from Southwest FL Honor Flight. As you know, our September Benevolent Committee donation was given to the Southwest FL Honor Flight. Thanks to our Benevolent Committee for selecting this most worthwhile organization. Naomi invited us to welcome home a group of veterans, returning from their Honor Flight, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Join us in this welcome! When: Tuesday, October 10, 2023
Where: Punta Gorda Airport, 28000 A-1 Airport Road Punta Gorda, FL 33982
Time: We will meet at the Dunkin Donuts in Wellen Park at 7:15 PM and leave promptly at 7:30 PM. The plane is scheduled to arrive at 8:30 PM. If you prefer, you can just meet us at the airport at 8:15.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS. Please wear a red, white or blue Sharktooth shirt. I have purchased small American flags on sticks so that each person can have a flag. Naomi has suggested we make a few welcome home posters – nothing fancy – marker on poster board like you see sometimes when people have them in the Airport.
Duration: Basically, we’ll just hang out until the plane arrives, welcome the veterans as they come into the airport, possibly chat a bit with them and that’s it. I do not have the flight number yet. When I get it, I will pass it along to everyone going, and watch to see that there are no flight delays, keeping everyone informed.
Is this a club shirt event: YES – red, white or blue
Bring your sports car: No need to bring your sports car. It will be dark. You may want to buddy up with another member and car pool.
