Hop in for a joyride to the lovely Tarpon Springs, where Captain George awaits to whisk us away on the St. Nicholas VII! Get ready for a splashy adventure as he spills the beans on the history of sponge diving. Back in 1905, a bunch of Greek spongers decided Florida was the perfect spot to create the world’s biggest sponge empire. The St. Nicholas Boat Line, kicked off in 1924 by Captain Michael J. Billiris, is still run by the Billiris family. Fun fact: it’s the second oldest attraction in Florida! Who knew sponges could be so historic?
